3 years ago I had to have an emergency appendectomy and went home about 6 hours after surgery feeling fine. a few weeks later I still was not having bowel movements and was told it was normal. over the course of a year I felt wore out would have bowel movement once every 3-4 weeks and was told it was fine. had to go in by ambulance bc of fever and inability to walk due to pain and I was told it was nothing and sent home. 2 weeks later I couldn't take went back and Said I was feeling the same way I did a year prior when they removed my appendix so they did a ct and I was back in surgery to remove the half of my appendix they left in and some of my colon. I was admitted and in hospital for a week. another year later and I still feel the same. no bowel movements, bloating, left sided pain, back pain, tired, full feeling and a week ago I went back into ER only to be told ct looked good no abnormalities except a mass they could not identify and was sent to my ob gyn the next day. he found a 5 inch mass on my ovary that was not there a year before and I have never had a cyst or anything on my ovaries so now will be going back to surgery to have it removed. I started researching and found an article that showed a correlation in appendectomies and carcinomas in colon or ovaries. the monocles in the poison of an infected/inflamed appendix carry the carcinomas and in the 2 known cases in the article they said that they did not irrigate organs well enough and some of the poison wasn't removed later causing the carcinomas in the 2 people they studied. has anyone ever heard of this? I am also having to get colonoscopy and endoscopy bc my colon doesn't really work and I'm lucky to have bowel movement once every 6 weeks, last ct showed no bowel obstruction, my stomach makes the strangest noises, it pulsates on left side of belly button just under my ribs and that area is visibly bigger than the right side. none of this was a problem for me until my first appendectomy and it's been 3 years of misery. any information or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. ty
