Hi all. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. For the most part I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the recovery has gone but I still have few questions to ask you. I have a bulge on the left side of my abdomen located over the scar. It isn't painful but really feels hard and swollen. I mean, I only have pain at night when I try to lay down. So, I’m wondering if I should I call my doc about this or just wait until my appointment next week?

Hi. I’ve had exactly the same thing going on when I had the procedure. But, as I learned later, the bulge was a normal thing and it simply softened up. Therefore, if there is no much swelling, increasing, by the way, I think that there is nothing to worry. After all, as you said, you have appointment next week – I think you can wait that long... Hope this helps.

Hi I had a total hysterectomy on 11/29/06 and I too had problems with my left side. I was so scared that I may have a hernier that I had a cat scan done it was nothing and now afew days later I am feeling much better. The pain will ease on its own. be patient and be carefull on the stairs.

Hi! I had a full hysterectomy in Oct of "06" and for some reason I seem to have almost totally lost my sex drive since, has this happened to anyone else that has had this procedure done? It's really putting a lot of pressure on my marriage.
