My mate has very low seats in her car. When I bent over to get in I got a massive abdomen cramp on the left side and tried to stretch it to no avail, now it feels like it's bruised and I'm wondering if I could get a hernia. I am obese and it felt like I got a knot in my intestine from my flab. Sorry that's the best way I can explain it.

I have had this for 6-7 years. Two endoscopes showed nothing. Anytime I bend over or sometimes cough sitting in bed reading and yesterday sitting on ground indian style with legs crossed I bent over to plug in Xmas lights and Bam! Holy sh*t it hurts and stomach tightens. Feels like a severe cramp takes breath away mostly upper left to middle just below breasts and lasts about a minute. I have to breathe through it to relax the cramp it makes me have to arch your back to lean into the spasm while taking slow breaths. I bolt upright to lessen/prevent a deeper cramp. Then it hurts for a while like a dull ache or bruise. Dr swears he finds nothing but I can't help but think it's something serious. I have a little extra in middle at 52 but not a ton of weight. Also I can longer do "crunches" at gym bc it causes it. WTF.

I'm been have stomach cramping on both sides of my stomach when I been over or reach into the back seat when in the car I have to stop & stretch or if on the passenger side recline the seat to stretch out the pain, it goes away but I still feel a little of residual pain the next day haven't been back to the dr yet to get it checked out. What specialist do I see to it check out?

does it feel like a "charlie horse" in your intestines? I have the same issue... it mostly comes from bending or contracting my stomach muscles while working or sometimes sitting. However, it is NOT coming from the stomach I do not think... feels like intestines and it does move around. Someone here described it as just under the breast in what common folk (like me) would describe as the "stomach" area.. ANYONE been to the doctor and gotten and answer? Think it could be lack of water.. as in we are not drinking enough WATER during the day? I'm guessing /wondering.

This is a very good description of what I am dealing with also. Very sharp cramping pain, can't take a deep breath, then the muscle (or whatever it is) relaxes , sometimes I feel like it is sliding back into place and then I'm perfectly fine. Occasionally, it will happen repeatedly for 30 - 40 minutes, and then that area is sore the next day. I also have weeks where it doesn't happen at all. Usually it is set off by bending over for something as mundane as putting socks on. I wonder if it has something to do with the diaphragm? Like you, my middle isn't what it used to be but I am by no means overweight. At 60 we can all expect a few aches and pains, but this is pretty tough to take, it is quite painful.

No idea, but I'm going in for my yearly physical in a few weeks and will be bringing it up with the doctor. Wish me luck!
