I have the same problem when I bend over. The pain is getting worse and lasts longer than usual. Dr did CT and has told me it was Diverticulitis and then he said no, it was cirrhosis and hep c. Then he said no, it could be hernia. Whatever, it is I am tired of this guessing game and going to another Dr. I wish they knew and could just FIX IT!

Having same symptoms for months. Very depressing because no help from the Dr. Closest thing I've found is Splenic Flexure Syndrome. Have used Gas X tablets with some relief as suggested by posts related to that diagnosis. Essentially gas get's trapped & it is suggested to try and massage it throigh your bowel. I guess tgere are therapists (PT) that do this for kids with that diagnosis. I'm also Diabetic Type 2 & have gluten sensitivity. Does seem to worsen discomfort with eating gluten. I feel full all the time and seem to be distended all the time.

I started having this about 3 years ago. First when in the tub bathing, shaving legs, would be in a bent over state. It cramps up very fast and very painful upper right abdomen. I have to lean back, breathe in real deep until it releases. I can literally feel it release almost like a pop and then I can breathe again. It has gotten worse now 3 years later, more intense, more often. I have gained weight in my stomach and unsure if this matters. It is scary, but I try to think it has to be muscular related to be going on this long. It comes and goes, not daily but weekly for sure. It contracts, hard as a rock, takes my breath. I lean back, breathe in deep and it seems to pop/release real fast. Its crazy and very sore now for days after

I had 3 c-sections, the last in 2005, and I started getting the cramps after the last one. I told my doctor about it but she shrugged her shoulders and did not seem concerned. The cramps have been more frequent over the last year or 2 and they make me feel like I could pass out.

Hi, I just spent an hour trying to find out exactly what happened to me yesterday afternoon. I bent down yesterday and immediately felt my sternum go over my stomach muscles. I have never felt that much pain in my life. I have experienced this many times before in the shower for the last few months when I bend over to wash my feet. I've been letting this go for so long but what I experienced yesterday was the most intense pain I have ever experienced. I went for a physical yesterday and mentioned that my abdomen hurts right below my sternum so I am going for an ultra sound tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if you have had an ultrasound and if what I'm experiencing will show up. Based on what I'm reading, is it a hiatal hernia? I am probably about 25 pounds overweight for being only 5'2. Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me. I would appreciate any words of wisdom.

Thank god I have found this forum as I thought I was going crazy. Glad I am not the only one with this issue. I am assuming I have to come back to this site to hopefully look for a response.

I have had this very same pain for many years I have had colonoscopy endoscopy and ultrasound of the abdominal area two times with no results I do not have a hiatal hernia. I am 52 and about 20 pounds overweight and I truly believe it's the excess weight in the stomach area that causes the spasms when I bend over to tie my shoe or pick up something off the ground. When I bend over I do it quickly and I stand up right to avoid the spasms and intense pain. My Gastro doctors acts dumbfounded and has mentioned extra stomach day may be the cause. Most of the extra weight sits in my stomach and no where else and I hate it. Working on weight loss all the time. My last scans were two months ago bc I insisted my dr missed something. Zero results so I have concluded it must be, for me, the extra weight in middle. Hope this helps.
