Wow..... There are a years worth of people experience the same main symptom with different secondary symptoms, yet no one has come back on here to tell us what their doctors final concusion is.
For three years I have had the bending over severe cramp in the high upper mid~ribcage abdomen area also. I jerk back up and massage the area because I feel like I am helping all the "whatever it is" go back into place. Then it is fine or leave a sore muscle. It is a gauranteed cramp if I have a full belly.
In addition or connected to it, For the past year, I have been having what feels like gallbladder pain, on the upper right side where gallbladders usually hurt. I had a FULL set of tests: ultrasound, CT, endoscopy and colonoscopy. All came back negative. (the only thing I didnt have was the radioactive die into the gallbladder to check bile flow). This pain still comes and goes.
3 months ago I started having back pain on that same right side what feels to be the back side of my gallbladder. But it also gets aggrevated by bending type exercises.
I feel like I am on my own now to figure this out and would love to know it is all connected since it is in the general area. I want them to say "just do this myofascial stretching exercise and it will all go away". Really praying it is muscular skeleton!

I don't know what happened to the poster but I do have similar symptoms and did some research on the hernia theory and I think they are right for most issues. Do still get checked out by a doctor.
