I had all those symptoms... they said it was GERD, H. Pylori... GI doc rx me take proton pump inhibitors for months for no relief. I ended up in urgent care because I couldn't stand the pain or another sleepless night. The doc in the urgent care said it was my Gall Bladder... I had severe gallstones... I've had my gallbladder taken out and I've had no problem ever since!!!! Sweet relief

Well after 4 months I have finally been diagnosed and have some relief. To be specific, These symptoms appeared after a bout of what I believed to be food poisoning 4 months ago. Symptoms were abdominal bloating, pain, being awoken at 2 or 3 am most nights with bloating and pain. Chills, flushed cheeks, constipation, occasional diarrhea, with relief after getting up and moving around. After a colonoscopy, gallbladder ultrasound, CAT scan, 3 separate fecal studies, two sets of blood work, 2 doctors and 2 emergency room visits I was finally diagnosed with Campylobacter after the 3rd fecal study. It did not show up on the first two. I received 3 days of Azithromycin. Initially I wasn't sure if it had worked as I still had some discomfort. Turns out it was a result of my gut and system battling this bacteria for so long, and it just needed to heal. I am still healing now, and am seeing significant improvement and relief. I hope this information helps at least some of the others who have posted here.

I might have a solution! I have been struggling with the same problem for a while now. The past few weeks I have tried different methods during the day and right before bed time and during the night to investigate solutions and/or possible triggers. Everything turned out negative amd noting seems to eleveate the pain. Then I tried eating a heavy (protein packed - not so easy to digest) meal right before I go to bed and whalaaaa NO PAIN! It seems that when having an ulcer amd fhe stomach runs empty then the pain comes, but keeping it filled up leaves no space for the ulcer to act up because of the natural stomach acid. Two nights ago I had a lighter meal before bed and I woke up with pain (no so severe but still there) so from now on I am going to bed on a FULL stomach. To add to the benefits... it seems like I dont feel so tired and nauseated if I had a good full meal before bed time, which is a added bonus. Hope this advice helps some of you ;)

Hi guys
I have had this same pain for 4 weeks. Was driving me nuts. Was waking up everynight/morning at 4 hours mark. was lacking energy, tired all the time, lack of appetite.
I was diagnosed with H. Pylori. so I was on triple therapy for one week. No relief after finishing the course.
Had nothing to do at 2am every morning so did lots of research on the Internet. As a result of my research I started intake of two things in last one week.
1) 2 huge spoonful Greek yoghurt + finely chipped 2 raw garlic + pinch of turmeric, salt and black pepper - this I have been taking every morning on empty stomach (today is day 5). Read that it kills that bacteria.
2) Black seed oil - half tea spoon twice a day (today is day 3 for this). Read that it can literally cure anything.

yesterday I had 5 hours sleep and less pain
Today I had 7 hours sleep and NO PAIN what so ever. felt slightly tender though.

I hope things keep on improving. I am looking forward to sleeping tonight to find out if it was a one off wonder.

you can give it a shot. there are no side effects.

Good luck guys! hope you all feel better.

I've had this for years and did discover that Sonota (sleeping pill) was causing it!!!!!! Once I stopped that med they went away for over a year. I still have trouble from time to time but I also have IBS. Levsin is a miracle med for the severe cramps!!!!!!!!! There is a generic thankfully!!!! Check out some of your meds to see if this could be a side effect! I know when I started on Prozac the severe nightly cramps started up so I stopped that and again they cramps subsided!

Fluoride isn't harmful to people in anyway. Its actually really good for your teeth. If there's something in your toothpaste that's bothering you, its not the fluoride. And also, why would you be ingesting your toothpaste in the first place

Try drinking a bottle of room temp water or a packet of oat meal. I have found that this happens when I have a lighter dinner. Stomach is over active.
