Hello. I had a LEEP procedure done this year and now 3 mos. later my PAPS came back abnormal as well. Awaiting a call back from my doctor. Now, me in the other hand have no intentions of having any more children and wonder what would be the most agressive way to tackle this and finally forget all these abnormalities ( while pregnant, I had an abnormal pap and colposcopy done). I have been dx with abnormal paps for a year now!!

I am currently a 52 yr old with 2 children ages 17 & 12 divorced for several years now. I would like to share my story. I routinely go for my pap smears. I had 2 pap smears which came back abnormal back in 2012, and I proceeded over time to have 2 colposcopies which indicated that my cells had mild dysplasia. I then decided to be in agreement with my doctor and have a LEEP procedure in Jan 2013. Since the LEEP procedure, all of my pap smears have come back normal up until this month March 2016 which indicated abnormal. My doctor is recommending yet another colposcopy and I have declined to date. It is important for me to say that I have been monogamous since 2011. I would like to wait another 6 months and retest with a pap smear and see what the results will be. I do eat healthy, juice daily and take vitamins. I feel very uneasy about going down the same avenue to receive yet more painful procedures and then same results in the end and continue to feel aches and tinges in the area of my cervix from the colposcopies and LEEP procedures several years later. In the end, will this lead to my doctor telling me I have to have a hysterectomy, which once again I would be against. The doctors gain by billing our insurance companies with so repetitive procedures and yet we suffer the scars and incompetencies of our womanhood. Any comments?

I know this is an old post. I hope you are well. I have had 2 LEEPS. I had mine four years apart with clean paps in between until it came back. It has now been 12 years since my last LEEP. I have to go have a coposcopy on Monday to see if they find anything. If I do then I don't know if I can have a third LEEP or if I have to get a hysterectomy.

Hello
I had leep done in 1998. All of my paps over the years have been negative until last week. Positive again for HPV! I'm in shock. I knew there was a chance of it being positive again but after 19 year's. My family Dr told me to just get another pap in 1 year. I'm not comfortable with that decision. She also said she will speak to the OB/GYNECOLOGIST in the office about my case to see what she thinks. So I'm waiting until March to see what they decide.

I am 22 years old. I was diagnosed with high risk HPV at age 20. I had 2 colposcopies before my first LEEP procedure, in February of 2016. Since that procedure I have had 2 more colposcopies, and am waiting for the result she of the most recent one. The one I had in September of 2016 came back with Cin2 lesions. I'm only 22 , if this continues will I ever be able to bear children?

Thank you so much for sharing this. I had been diagnosed March 16 with adenocarcinoma SIN3.. went through the whole shabang.. leep 06/02 with clean Margins, normal pap for the 3 and 6 mo check up. Just got a call from my 9 month screening and it came back abnormal.. I'm freaking and this really helped calm some nerves! Did you end up having to get a second Leep procedure ?

Thank you so much for sharing your story, I had a similar situation too! I was diagnosed Nov 2015 w/ CIN3, had the colpo and leep done June 2016, biopsy read Carsenoma but clear margins! Returned 3, 6 months and had the first normal pap smear I've ever had. Just had my second colpo done last Monday after my 10 month pap came back abnormal. Kind of freaking out only because I'm losing my health insurance in 5 weeks.. but the best and most reassuring feeling is going to all my appointments and doing what ever is necessary

I just want to post my story for any women who is diagnosed with hpv and dysplasia. Anyone who is told to wait a year and leave it be. Or who is told there is no treatment for dysplasia outside of surgery. There is hope! Please, begin researching escharotic therapy. It is so effective! It treats the dysplasia and hpv, which is the root of the problem. I was diagnosed with hpv-16 and cin1 last year. Told to wait a year, and now it's cin2 and they want to do a leep. I found a naturopathic doctor in my area who has a bear perfect success rate with escharotic. I am choosing this because i believe it gets to the root of the problem. I only wish I had learned about it last year and avoided the year of anxiety, fear and progression of illness. Good luck ladies and best wishes to all!!!

I'm crying right now as I text you to say thank you for sharing your story I really appreciate it and it makes me feel better I really needed to hear that. I have three adult children and a 10 yr old my husband was killed in 09 I had a leep done in 2012 it was the worst pain I had ever felt an now I have a another abnormal pap again Lord knows I don't want to go through that again so know some might say it's not that bad but they tried to do a partial hysterectomy but I started to hemorrhage so they stuff me with gauze and stitched me up but the problem with this is the gauze got stuck in between the stitches, I'm in pain just talking about it. Thank you again for helping me feel better your right it is in God hands , God bless you and you have a blessed day.

Same here! This whole “procedure or protocol” of thee waiting is insane! I the same abnormal cells, colpol , keep, & was told to wait 6 months for another colpol, but I am not waiting that long. It’s been 4 months since the leep, and I just did the paps and the Dr did not want to do it! (Kaiser). I don’t smoke never have, I eat clean, alkaline water, greens, AHCC, sea moss, chlorophyll all cancer killing vitamins, cut out sugar of any kind, exercise on a regular, live & practice having a positive outlook on life, positive affirmations. Single mom of 3. I waited two yrs to begin with before I could even schedule a colpol, because that’s how busy Kaiser has is.
