Hi!

For how long does accutane stay in the body after a 5 month long treatment? I've talked with two doctors, one that says six months and one that says 12 months, so i'm very confused now. The thing is that i'm planning on having a nosejob, but i've been told to wait until the accutane has left my body because "as long as the accutane is in your body it will disturb the nosejob's healing process". So my question is: how long will the accutane stay in my body after the treatment? Is there an exact answer? I really don't want to mess up my nose, that's why i'm asking.

That's so odd what your doctors said. Accutane has a half life of 21 hours so if you stop taking it, it should be out of your system (mostly) within 48 hours. Have you consulted with your plastic surgeon about this? Thanks for letting me know!

No, I have not contacted a plastic surgeon yet, I've only been in contact with two doctors.

I've read somewhere that surgery just after (probably month) Accutane therapy could cause long-lasting scars. Be careful!

I would recommend not having any type of surgery until atleast 6 months after. I am speaking from experience! Even the smallest scratch does not properly heal while on Accutant and soon after. Not to mention anesthesia sp? is cycled through your liver where the accuntane is and has done damage.
