This is a remarkably misinformed comment even for the internet. I can only hope that the writer's job at the pharmacy is not behind the counter.

Aspirin has many interactions, including ones with anti-coagulants and SSRI's like Prozaz and Zoloft (GI bleeding). Prozac and Adderall are not in the same family of drugs and have very different effects, indications and interactions. Many people take both at the same time. And finally, the antidepressants are not addictive.

Thank you for correcting her! My pharmacist told me that they were two different drugs that can be used together. They do have different effects on the brain and body.

EXACTLY KAY!!!!! LATRENA needs to know and completely understand, "A LITTLE BIT OF KNOWLEDGE CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS!" You, Latrena, WORK @ a pharmacy that doesn't tell us anything………I have a BSN and can tell you that I know the INTENT of why these drugs are prescribed, the body routes they take, the side effects, etc; BUT I would never tell anyone that I know ALL about what happens when an individual takes them. I suspect you are a clerk in a pharmacy and you and your employer could be sued for practicing medicine without a license!

Latrena whatever company you work for needs to fire you immediately. I don't know what school you went to but you obviously know nothing if you think that Prozac and Adderal are the same drug. If by "work at a pharmacy" you mean that you clean up the place or you work on the register, that doesn't qualify you to give medical information by any stretch of the imagination. Please go back to school before you give medical advice to anyone.

I just got prescribed this exact combo today, how does it work for you? I was prescribed the adderall first so I'm just hoping the Prozac doesn't lessen the effect of the adderall.

I did not realize that SSRI (increasing serotonin) may decrease dopamine levels; it sounds as you are suggesting a direct inverse relationship. That is scary.

If you are not a victim of the disorder, you do not know what it means to have it.

Latrena did not write the previous statement, Stephanie did.. apparently this site has made it easier to create libel responses than for one to sign up to their own account. either way, kayelle is wrong, this is an extremely important correction. many struggle with ADD, (myself included) and many face depressive issues to top it off. Adderall being prescribed with Prozac is not only common, but quite necessary, and beneficial for those who qualify.
