I'm concerned about my grandfather. He started coughing two weeks ago and he still won't go to a doctor. I cannot explain to him that in his age, he is 67, any kind of illness could go very wrong way, but instead of me he listen to his friends, also older people, who sad that it is probably some minor allergic cough and that it'll pass on its own. If it really is allergic cough, is it dangerous?

Allergic cough has many causes. Most often is bronchiole asthma, which can lead to bronchospasm and neither you nor your grandfather want that. There are medicaments that help here, but it is not good to discus them without a visit to a doctor. I understand your problem, my mother also has this irrational fear of doctors and hospital, and he could not get rid of it her entire life. Maybe a house call would help, try that.
