I've been to 8 different Medical Doctors ( Hygienist , Dentist, Primary Doctor, Oral Surgeon 3 ENT's, Dental Pathologist, Pharmacist)rover last year and nobody has helped me with this issue. I've had CAT scan nothing showed up. My mouth is always salty tasting especially along right lower gum line and the gum tissue along by teeth feeling like it is lose. The salty taste often gets extreme and then actually stings tongue. If I moisten lips it stings and really drys them out. I've stopped all medications for month and nothing changed. Nobody can see any thing wrong with gum issue. My only cure I've found that works for a little while is to pack cotton between tongue and gum line that works for while. Any idea's

Have you had anyone check to see if you are deficient in any vitamins or minerals? Having a salty taste in your mouth could be from a deficiency in Vitamin B12 or zinc. If you do, you may also feel tenderness around your tongue from this. It is worth checking out and could be easily treated by taking supplements. You may see if you have any other deficiencies as well when you get your workup. I hope this is the piece of the puzzle that you are looking for. Let me know if it is indeed a nutritional deficiency that is causing your problem.
