OK, so here is my question...I have had an occasional bout of 'dizziness' for a few years now. I don't get dizzy to the point where I think I will fall down, but it feels more like a head rush..this only happens when I stand up, of if I am sitting and look up or look down...and sometimes if I turn my head back and forth. I don't know what the hell could cause this, I do take meds for high blood pressure but my BP is always normal when I check it.
It's very annoying, it seems to happen in the morning but gradually gets better but the past couple of experiences have gone all for most of if not the entire day. The last 2 have started by me simply waking up in the morning...
Went to the doctor last time and she simply dismissed it as 'nothing'...
HELP!!

It sounds like a momentary low pressure in your blood that makes you feel dizzy.
Next time it happens, either remain seated until it passes, or quickly kneel down and lower your head, and see if you don't immediately come back to normal. BE CAREFUL in case you should pass out or fall over.
But except for the annoyance factor, this doesn't soound like anything serious to me either.
Relax.

Me and the other old guys I hang out with call that the "old man's high". Much cheaper than pot, and completely legal! We're all on BP pills and that's what happens when you stand up after working on the floor under your car.
The part about when you turn your head may be BPV.
This explains it pretty well.

I got that for the first time last Summer. My doctor just agreed with me that it was Benign Positional Vertigo and was not concerned about it at all. I have learned to live with it and figured out how to minimize it. It's kind of one of those things that you tell the doctor happens you when you do this and he says "well don't do that.
I git it the first time one morning as I was getting out of bed. I sat up and everything went screwy. I had to lie down fast to keep from falling off the bed. Since then it has gradually lessened and I have become more accustomed to it.
