Hi! The weirdest thing happened to me today. At my aunt’s place at lunch I found out that I had my appendix removed when I was a child. I had no idea about that. Later, when I was thinking about it, I realized I had no idea what the appendix does in a body, and what happens that it needs to go out! It is better to ask you, that any of my relatives, they would probably just laugh at me. Thank you in advance

Hi there! No wonder you didn’t know. An appendix does nothing in a body and a person can live normally without it. My mom says it only makes trouble. Sometimes it happens that the inner lining of the appendix gets inflamed ( actually blocked, usually by feces) and bacteria that live inside can spread through the wall of the appendix, and the appendix can rupture then. After rupture, infection can spread throughout the abdomen
on other organs and cause more health problems. So, when ever inflammation occurs it would be best to get rid of the appendix as it has no function what so ever.
