Hi. I have some delicate problems and I was wondering could anybody help me. A month ago, I have slept with one girlfriend I didn’t know before and after it I didn’t feel any discomfort while urinating or see some visible change on my penis.
But, after about three weeks I have noticed that my glans is changed in color. It was more red then usual and I felt discomfort while urinating.
Almost immediately I have known what caused this- I got some sexually transmitted disease I got sleeping with that girl. I contacted my urologist the same day and he discovered that I have developed some condition called balanitis and gave me some clotrimazole drug.
So, if it is possible, I would like to find out more informations about this disease. Thanks

I have also diagnosed with this disease about three years ago and now, I'm cured completely.
Listen, what my doctor said to me. Balanitis is an inflammation of the glans (head) of the penis. It usually causes redness and a blotchy rash on the glans, sometimes with a discharge.
It can be caused by many things like irritants, seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact allergy and thrush (Candida).
I think you are wrong in one thing. Balanitis is not sexually transmitted.
It results from an overgrowth of organisms which are normally present on the skin of the glans.
The condition most commonly occurs in men who have a foreskin.
Infection requires the relevant antibiotic or antifungal drug.
Steroid creams of mild to moderate strength are used in short-term courses for non-infective eczematous or inflammatory skin conditions.
