I have a birthmark on the side of my head just above my ear and on the back on my neck. The one on the back of my next is a "stork" birthmark.
This obviously wouldn't be a problem for most people because of hair but I shave my head because of hairloss because I feel it looks a lot better.
I went to a specialist clinic who told me that the birthmarks would be able to be removed, however, they would also destroy the hair follicles in those areas too. This would probably end up looking worse for me than the current situtation.
Is there any other options available to me to have these removed or lightened? Or are they just something that I'm going to have to live with?
Thanks

Hi Paulie! I understand it bugs you. My brother had a birthmark removed a few years ago, but his was on his upper back. He has it done by a specialist through the health care system. He went to the GP first and then the consultant and finally has it referred to have it removed. It might be a bit more costly this way, but I think it's better because the aftercare is much more better as you don't want bad scarring. And the hair loss problem you mentioned can be easily solved by medical makeup over the area itself? I think you should remove it because birthmarks they can be a serious problem, and if it's located on your head it's quite vulnerable. All the best to you!
