A member of my family has had urinating problems for 4 years. His urologist thought it was his prostrate but he two surgeries and neither worked. He has the urge to go urinate, but hardly anything comes out. He has been on flomax and other medications to help him urinate, but it barely works and the side effects are so bad it's not even worth taking it with hardly any progress. He has been tested for cancer, but it came back negative and I don't think kidney stones can last 4 years? Does anyone have an idea on what it could be? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am wondering if your family member's problems might not be related to anxiety. I know a lot of people who struggle with anxiety and they do report that some symptoms of it actually are the urge to urinate but not actually urinating. Have you considered biofeedback? What do you think about that?
