Hi, I have been to two differnt urologists and they can't find what is wrong. I'm going to my third this week. I have frequent Urination I go 2-5 times a night. I have trouble going at times or keeping a stream going. I have trouble emtying as well. What should I ask my new doctor? What types of tests should I ask him to do? What do you think is wrong?

You may suspect some prostate enlargement there, but it is usually benign and can be easily treated. Good luck.

Hi bobdylan,

Since two of your doctors couldn’t discover what is your problem I sincerely hope that the third one is going to be good doctor who will be able to determine what is wrong with you. As reddal mentioned it could be that you are suffering from prostate enlargement. Prostate is a male reproductive gland which produces the fluid that carries sperm during ejaculation. In case when you are diagnosed with prostate enlargement this simply means that this gland has grown bigger.

This is not a cancer, so don’t start to panic!

The most common symptoms of prostate enlargement include: dribbling at the end of urinating, urinary retention, incomplete emptying of your bladder, incontinence, need to urinate two or more times per night, delayed start of the urinary stream, strong and sudden urge to urinate.

Please keep me posted as well. My Urologist checked for my Prostrate and that was fine. Never told me what else it could be. I'd appreciate being kept posted as to other inputs and maybe even the study that is involved.

Sometimes obstructive sleep apnea mimics those conditions. That was the situation in my case. Many urologists don't know that similarity. I was going 2-3 times per night. After going to a sleep clinic and determining that I had severe sleep apnea, I got a CPAP. After using the CPAP, I didn't whizz until morning!!!.......still don't. Read up on sleep apnea & CPAPs on the internet and carry that newfound information to your next urologist visit.

My doctor told me the same thing. Did the rectal test and said my prostate was fine. However, I am still having weak stream and incomplete emptying problems. What else could it be?
