It most likely isn't cancer. This is appearantly pretty common. It has happened to me twice. Usually after a day of work outside if I have not worn any underwear. The scrotum gets warm which causes bloodflow. Moisture from sweat softens the skin. If one pops open, try dabbing a bit of corn starch on the spot. It worked pretty well for me.

This is quite normal for most middle+ age males. The bleeding will not stop in a hurry too. Best way is to relax, press a towel wet with very cold water (or preferably ice) for some time - sometimes even 5 minutes. If you have boric acid powder, just apply some of it on the cut to help the blood clot faster (I have even used ordinary talcum powder - though some may be allergic and could get some reactions)

yup. Got the exact situation. Took about 20-30 minutes to stop bleeding. Freaked me out for the second time. The last one occurred almost 3 years ago. It seems we are not to worry about it much, and it is possibly common to middle aged men. Now got me thinking, are we gonna start spraying blood once we hit 60 or 70 then?

Sure hope there is some kind of remedy out there.

Apply powder or septic stick used to stop razor cuts and may need to apply pressure with a small pad of tissue.  Arrid Extra, Extra Dry deodorant aerosol will also work just as well and you will also smell better  :  ).

Happened to me before shower. I was scratching down there and must have scratched too hard. I found a clear "Breath-Rite" nasal strip in the bathroom and used that to stop the bleeding. I got worried that it wasn't slowing or stopping at first, but after reading other posts here, feel better. Gonna try to sleep and not move to avoid peeling off the nasal strip. (clear tape might have also worked, but the nasal strip is extra sticky)

I've noticed a small little blood vessel/vein on my scrotum for about two years. It had gotten darker and has pushed closer to the surface and I was toying with the idea of popping it, but I knew it would bleed non-stop. Then yeaterday I showered and dried off, got dressed and started my day. Then last night I got ready for bed and noticed my underwear were covered in blood. I was mortified to say the least. However, I knew what it was. Then I checked it out and it had hardened. Then the dried blood came off and wouldn't stop gushing. Applied pressure with no avail. Hoping it would clot, I disinfected it and put on a cotton ball, which it soaked through 2 of them before I got a band aid with a cotton ball underneath. I woke up and it stopped. Band aid off, but no blood. Showered and noticed my towel had spots of blood everywhere. Then on one side it was completely saturated with blood. Crazy! I just worked out at the gym and my grey underwear were now stained with blood. I am now walking home, feeling like this could easily happen again. I'm baffled. Not sure what to do. I feel like a woman on her period. I might have to go buy maxi pads as I'm nervous this is going to keep happening. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME A REAL SOLUTION. Besides getting it burned.

I had this problem last year and panicked but after visiting the Doc who thoroughly checked me and asked me that it is nothing to worry about and I was asked to apply some soframycin cream and it worked. Not something at all to get alarmed about.Cheers!
