Am having this very issue , this is the second time it is happening to me . It first appeared four years ago and it cleared on its own though it freaked me out at first. Now that it's back am always certain of clots when I go to pass water after sex and at times my semen got little blood in it. am wondering how one can get rid of this situation

Reading the responds, I also have blood and bloodclots in my urine only after having sex. I must say to actually see it, it looks very painfull but ive need felt any pain at all. The doctor said its not ant STD and told my to stop having rough sex which actually helps.

l am so having same problem just like you the only difference is am having tingling on both legs and each time l pee l see a spot of blood its really bothering me.

Afer sex i had this problem. I'm going through the situation but not as bad as yours. I have no pain or discomfort. Doctors don't know whats the cause of it. I had uti exam, ct scan, cystospy exam done but they found NOthing. Its been 4months now and i still have about the same amount of blood coming out of my urine as it did on my first day.

hey guys, i've been following this topic for a long time. i'm a guy from brazil with the same problem (and symptons). Doctors are clueless too. I had this for the first time in 2011 and now I think I can share some things to help the others, especially the rookies. Now the clots dont even bother me anymore 'cause I figured a painless way to deal with them. This is gonna sound very strange but when you see blood, dont try to force the clots out. PEE (in the shower) UPSIDE DOWN. Let me try to explain. Put your legs on the wall and try to make your body go as further back as you can. you're gonna pee a little on yourself, but its way better than the pain of trying to force it out. The reason you cant pass is cause there's a large clot that is working as a drain inside your bladder, and when you get upside down, it gets to the back and let the smaller ones and liquid pass. I hope you guys understood that even with my bad grammar hahaha.. It may take a day or two to pass all the clots, just drink lots of water.

Now to the healing part: I got better from it 4x. The first time with Cipro and 30 days of complete sexual inactivity, second time from Finasterida and complete sexual inactivity (30 days), third from Combodart and complete sexual inactivity (30 days).

Now, the 4th time was december of last year and I just said **** it and started self medicating. I read what other people said here about gout and uric acid and started taking pills for both and continued with Combodart. Im taking Endofolin 5mg and Alopurinol 300mg (they probably have other names in english, so you guys have to figure it out). I haven't stopped masturbating and I tried having sex last night after 40 days of my last try (bloody) and I was alright and that makes me think that the guys that said that stuff about gout and the uric acid are on to something. yesterday my wife i had sex. when he went to the bathroom to urinate blood came out. then a big blood clot came out while he was still urinating. only a little at a time (urine) was coming out like he was having difficulties or maybe a slight pain.should i be worried about catching a "STD" or what? when i went online they mostly talked about prostate?????tell me something i'm losing my mind trying to figure this out. 

I'm thinking Rob is on to something here about the Polyps. Look up urethral hemangioma, this may be whats afflicting most of us on here. Women have DNC procedures to remove uterine polyps maybe this is just the "male version" of a similar thing......I am going to bring this up to my urologist.....Funny how this hasn't been mentioned much before. You would think more urologists would know about this rather than just do another cystoscopy or kidney and bladder ultrasound....

I have this same problem. I could not pee and the pain was causing me to stoop over. When I finely let loose, in the hospital ER bathroom you would have sworn a masicure happen there.

A larg soft clot came shooting out and blood spattered every where. I had no control.

I am over 65 and this has happened twice in the last 3 month.  I think,for me, that the veins get so full and at orgasum the pressure causes something to leak. The unrine is clear  just after 15 min of the bleading. My was so clear the doc thought I was pulling a prank. I was even shocked it was clear. This happened first time Feb. 2015 and 2nd time after sex May 2015.

I've had this problem on and off for almost 15 years now. Its awful i wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.  I was in denile about it early on as it happened very rarely and only had isses with a small amount of blood in my my urine after ejaculating. I soon took notice when once (the worst day of my life) awaking after a bloody sex sessions the next day, not being able to pee. The clot took me a good 4 hours to clear and was huge, I was in so much pain through needing to pee I wanted to die. After that I did alot of reading online after getting nowhere with my doctor. The best advice I found was to always check for blood after ejaculating and make sure you can keep peeing all the time your bleeding, try to pee clear as soon as possible, that means the bleeding has stopped. The blood clots I have found for me get bigger and harder to pass the longer you leave it. You also have to be careful not to drink to much water because if you are struggling to pass a clot it can become very painful with a full bladder. But staying relaxed is a big part of this, if you panic thinking I have to pee, it can make the situation alot worse. In general it helps to stay well hydrated everyday.

I have now managed to self regulate it quite successfully for a good few years. I have found if i take supplements for prostate support, vitamin K after bleeding occurs, and maybe additional Zinc, they have helped prelong the issue returning. I also make sure I ejaculate very regularly. If i go longer than a week then i can sometimes start to feel discomfort when becoming over arroused and this can lead to a bleeding episode.

I have gone over 2 years with no issues on few occasions, but just when you think your in the clear it will rear its ugly head again.  When I first had the worst of it, it use to take months to clear up, waiting weeks with no ejaculating. But now i carry on as usual, but only have gentle sex, try not to prelong cuming to long, and now although sometimes it can take a few weeks to clear up I have had instances of it only happening one time in a year.

I am suffering again at the moment but previous to this only had one instance in the last two years.

I keep coming back here hoping someone has found an answer.

Hopefully with all the advancements in health/technology some day soon someone will answer all our prayers!

If you found this thread, no doubt you did the same as the others.. Googling to find clues.. Ive dealt with this for 5 years on and off.. Ive learned some lessons the hard way, and some the easy way.. First off.. No doctors are going to have a clue.. They will stick with the " it's impossible" stance So, what are your symptoms ? Clots in your blood after sex ? After masterbation ? Heavy thick clots, that look like leeches ? Let me give you a bit ofadvice ... Urinate before sex, to empty your bladder.. But let's say about 30 minutes before sex.. You'll want some in there to help passing.. Cant pass a clot ? Relax ( IMHO ) yes, you want to get them out of there.. But it's been my experience that there not going to get hard in  there.. In fact there going to dissolve slightly   Heres the plan...  1 try to pee, if  it works , your done.. Don't grunt and strain to much , relax let the clot get towards the tip 2 didn't work.. Hot bath.. Tootsie roll your penis a bit..if yourbladder is empty, and you can get some urine and blood out, that's good.. You don't want to have a full bladder, there's danger in that too.. Yes this is not what your brain tells you.. You brain says " more urine... PUSH " 3 still doesn't work ? Relax.. Hot soak..Manipulate your penis.. This normally will move the clot, and you can pee more... Anything you can do to keep your bladder from not over filling the better IMHO... I made the mistake of drinking a ton,of water thinking yea... More water the better.. But I still couldn't pass it and had to go e.r. Advice..cranberry juice or pills  .. Vitamin k.. Antibiotics to heal the wound inside your urinary tract This is NOT BLOOD IN YOUR SEMEN.. This is blood in your urinary tract , the wound acts up during sex, so your  doctor will think its semen related or prostate... Im no doctor, I'm just going by me going thru this, and what my gut says. If you'd like to talk, or email that would be great.. It seams very very rare.. And in my case it comes and goes.

Have had this for close to 20 years on and off. Started in my early twenties. The blood/clots would come in the urine stream and then the subsequent pees would be clear. Blood right after sex or masturbation and then it would be clear. Lately when I have had a bout of it it has lasted a number of weeks. But only the first pee in the morning even after no sex. So, something must be happening at night (nocturnal erections??) that are bringing it on. I have has 3 cystoscopies, 3 MRI, 3 CT Scans, Ultrasounds and every time they cannot find anything wrong. When I tell my urologist my symptoms and what is happening he looks at me like I am telling him a fairy tale......Anyway, best advice is to get yourself checked by the routine tests and if they can find nothing just know that you are not alone and you may have ruptured a blood vessel or something.....someday someone will figure this out......

I notice this issue only after having anal sex (receiving a penis up the rectum). When sex was done, I went to the restroom to urinate, blood came out followed by lots of blood clot, making it difficult to urinate, making me have to mike my penis just to get the clots to pass.. Had all kind of test done, with no results why this is happening. The blood in my bladder causes a false positive prostate reading, and infection, and had to take some type of antibiotic, which assisted in lowering the prostate reading back to it's normal level. (No family history of prostate cancer). To date, never found out why this happens only after having anal sex. I would love to find out why this happens so it can be carried.
