told that my breast pain and feeling of heat are due to hormonal chnages. i am 41. lately the left breast has the feeling of heat to it and tingling down the arm exspecially at the elbow. any ideas?

Look, if your pain appears when there are hormonal fluctuations, then be sure that the pain you are experiencing is cyclic and hormonal. Hormonal fluctuations usually occur around periods and ovulation and the pain may be the most obvious at those times.
When the breasts swell, they may put pressure on some nerves, which would in return cause pain in shoulders and arms.
I usually get the stabbing pain slightly before my period would arrive.
If your breast pain is not cyclic and persists, maybe you should point that out to your doctor. Non cyclic breast pain usually last for a year or two and may subside on its own.
