Hi, my husband is 45 years old and he has been diagnosed for acute bronchitis. He was not feeling good. He had chest pains, anxiety and sleep disturbances. Finally we have agreed that he must visit the doctor. He told me that he has bronchitis but he does not wish to tell me what cause this illness to occur. Please tell me what causes the bronchitis to appear?

I have the same diagnose myself. Now I am some kind of an "expert" for bronchitis because I have decided to learn as much as I can. People with this disorder are most often tobacco smokers with a history of at least one pack per day for at least 20 years. Is your husband a smoker? Onset is typically in the fifth decade and often comes to attention as a productive cough or acute chest illness.
