Hi! There are answers on your questions. Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes, the part of the respiratory system that leads into the lungs. Acute bronchitis usually appears after a respiratory infection, such as a cold. Chronic bronchitis does not have a sudden onset and is most frequently caused by long term irritation of the bronchial tubes. The bronchitis is considered chronic if symptoms continue for three months or longer. The main way to treat chronic bronchitis is to avoid the irritant that is causing the illness.

Hello there,

Bronchitis is the inflammation of the airways and it can be acute and chronic. This means that it can last for short period of time, but if it is chronic it means that it will reoccur and will last longer.

This is infection that first affect nose, sinuses and throat and after that it can spread on the lungs. If you have bronchitis more than 3 months then you will be diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. The most common symptoms of bronchitis are chest discomfort, fever but this is usually low fever which is not dangerous. Shortness of breath and wheezing are also symptoms of the bronchitis.

There is no need for antibiotics; bronchitis will go away on its own.
