Hi there and congrats on the new baby! I just had one (my second) in October. You had asked when you can expect to get your period. It really all depends on whether or not you are breastfeeding or not. If you are, chances are you won't get an actual period until your baby is starting to ween from the breast or atleast cut back on feedings. If you are not breast feeding, you can get your period as early as 6-8 weeks afterwards.
Either way, I wish you all the best luck! If this is your first, the one peice of advice that I wish someone woud have told me is that the crying and night wakenings do stop and if your baby is colicky, it does stop.
GOOD LUCK!
