I just had my fist time(sex) about a week ago and it hurt like majorly and now i have all this icky like brown discharge stuff coming out of my area and I was just like wondering if it was like normal? or like how to get rid of it because its gross. like i heard it's like the vagina cleaning it's self or something. but yeah. and I was also wondering if its normal for it to hurt alot the first time and feel like everything is like full and it to not feel that good or anything so yeah any information or advice would really help ASAP thanks!

Hi honey! When you first become sexually active, you are more prone to infections such as Yeast infection and Urinary Tract Infections! Also The vagina is ALWAYS cleaning itself with mucus - which is rarely seen! It does NOT clean itself out so to speak! The main discharge if it's red or brown will be from the uterus and through the cervix! and what happens is called "Vaginal Bleeding" It is from increase in hormones - when having sex! And it can - sometimes - shed the lining of the uterus (sort of like a mini period)! Thus you might have heard about women having periods while they are pregnant - they don't, it's just this "Vaginal Bleeding"! So the first thing is, does this smell? If it smells like an infection you need to get a swab done or a urine culture done! So just keep an eye on it OK?
