brown discharge on implanon

Since giving birth to my son in  August 2011 i hadn't had a period at all, I wanted a long term birth control as I'm useless with "the pill" so in May 2012 I got an implanon, 3 months into having it (Aug 2012) my periods started.

I had really bad skin like super spotty face, then the latest I had my period which last 7 days (which is normal for me) then 3 days after that I had dark brown discharge which has now lasted for 7 days ?? I'm constantly tiered regardless of how much sleep I get and i'm worried in-case these are signs of the implanon not working with my body and i need a new contraception???? As its nearly been a year I would of thought my body would of got used to it by now???

 

Any help anyone???

I've had mine since March 2013, so over five months. I bled later the day i got it put in and then never again. But i also noticed that i get a brown discharge or maybe its a light bleeding? But only after sex.

I have had the implant since the begining of june 2013 and ever since i have had dark brown dischrage, it would stop for only a few days every few weeks, i have low iron as it qas before i got the implant so this cant be good? Should i get it taken out? As i am getting dizzy spells and am always tired ever since?

Implanon sucks!!! Brown Nasty discharge, dont wanna have sex with my husband, and cant get rid of my last 15lbs of baby weight!!! WTF! love my husband and its killing my relationship but no more babies.....

I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I got my implanon inserted on the 4th of July this past year. So, today, that marks three months that I've had it in. When I got it in, I didn't bleed or anything for three weeks. Then I got my period, which was when I was normally due to have it, however it was VERY heavy for three days, then spotting for the next seven. After that I didnt bleed for about a month and got another period, however very light, which I thought I was getting because my body isn't used to the hormones and what not. This lasted for about 4 weeks, which my GP said was likely to happen because this is progestin only, but now I have had brown discharge every since. It's VERY obnoxious. It's not enough that I have to wear anything, as I have very sensitive skin and using tampons or pads for a long time irritates me, but I am always afraid of it actually going through on to my jeans. If anyone has any more information on this, please let us all know! Does this go away or is it here to stay?

I'm exactly the same! I've been so paranoid I'm pregnant! I got mine fitted in July of this year and it's been brilliant for the past 3 months and I'm suddenly getting this dark brown discharge, mainly when I wipe after urinating. Glad to hear it's not just me!

I have had mine since january 14th 2013 and I had a weird period then none. For about 3 months. For about 2 months now ive had messed up brown discharge.some days better then others At first I was so scared somehing was wrong with me. You guys have helped so much I have so much weight taken off my shoulders. Im really considering removing this thing.. when I first got it, it made me pretty mich psychotic. Better now. Ive also had the depo shot for 9 months and non syop bleeding..guess my body hates BC thats indefinite for a good amount of time again thank you so much I was so embarrassed and scared.

Aaand I'm here for the same reasons, had mine put in in March (I think) and although I had HORRIBLE mood problems for a while, it's better now, but suddenly I have this brown discharge that I notice when I wipe after peeing... I've skipped my period for years now, first with bc pills, then Nuvaring(which I loved) and then with this, but now, discharge.. Not sure what to do, it's been two days, I guess I'll see how it goes. Really don't want to have to deal with switching bc again....

Okay I've done research and nobody's stories about the implanon can help me!!! I'm 20 years old now and got the implanon put in my senior year of high school so I've had it for a little over three years. Mine is supposed to last for 4 years. Anyway, ever since I've had it my periods immediately stopped!! Haven't had one in three years, meanwhile I've been with my boyfriend for two of those years an were not having protected sex because I've never really worried about it. Keep that momento In mind. I'm very petite I guess you would say and of course I'm having all the other symptoms regularly e.g. Swollen breast, roller coaster mood swings, drowsiness. My implanon isn't to be expired until August 2014 and I started bleeding this week!!! I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. But this isn't even the normal time span for my menatration.. It's Always been at the beginning or the end of every month ( before implanon) sooo basically I'm freaking out. I've never in three years had symptoms like this. :( not to mention me and my boyfriend have intercourse atleast every other day ( sorry TMI) what is wrong? Is my birth control wearing off? Am I pregant? Is is my hormones making me think I'm pregant because it's wearing off?? SOMEONE HELP

I had my implant put in oct 2012 it's been in just over a year. Peroids was regular at the start I've noticed the past few months I've bled light for a week then browny red blood spotting for 2 weeks that doesn't smell to pleasant which is embarrassing especially when you have a partner. Has anyone Else had this ? Doctors suggested the mini Pill but this gave me really bad mood swings

I had my son October 4 and I had my nexplanon put in November 20. I was on my period, well finishing up when it was being put in. The nurse said give it a week before it was fully effective. A week and 2 days after it was put in I had unprotected sex and my fiancé came in me. Fast forward 2 days ago I started having dark brown discharge(no need for liner until today). It doesn't seem like implantation spotting because last time it was light pink and just 2 or three drops but I am still paranoid.

I've had implanon since January of 2010 and had it changed in December 2012. I think the brown discharge is just mucus your body is releasing. The mucus is what your body uses to keep sperm from entering your body.

Implantation in terms of pregnancy is different from the impant you get put in your arm. Implantation in pregnancy is when the egg attaches itself the uterus. It has nothing to do with the implant that goes in your arm :)
