I have a question. I've had the impoleon in for less then a month and I haven't properly gotten my period it's just been this brown discharge colour for the last week or so and me and my boyfriend had sex because I thought it finished but when he pulled out their was brown discharge should I be worried.

I got my implant december29 2014. I had unprotected sex at the beginning of December but we were interrupted by someone so my boyfriend didnt cum but I know precum is always a risk. youre supposed to get it implanted while you're on your period to be sure you're not already pregnant but since im afraid of getting blood drawn I lied and said I started my period the day before to avoid a pregnancy test. I usually have my period right before the end of the month but I didnt get it in December or this month. I had sex on new years unprotected and he came in me. I know discharge is a sign of pregnancy so I'm an little worried. Since I had sex 2 days after I got it implanted im not sure when it starts orking

Weight gain is a side effect of the implant. When I was talking about this bc to my doctor before actually getting it she said it can cause weight loss as a side effect. But I went on the website for the implant & it said weight gain is a side effect

Hi! I have inplanon and I'm about to get it out. Iv have it for almost three years. Yes brown mucus discharge is normal. Instead of me having a period that would basically be my period. When I first got it inserted I was on my period for a year straight. Then I started spotting. After spotting it has always been the brown mucus since.

I've been on implanon for almost the full three years and I have had brown discharge almost the whole time.. I haven't gone to the doctors because I've been constantly moving.

Hi, I got the implanon in December (06/12/14) and I didn't have any bleeding or discharge for a week after then for a consistent month I had brown discharge and then 2 weeks of bleeding. Finally after that it stopped for about a week and not its starting up again! I'm sick of it, it's killing my sex life with my boyfriend and I want to keep it cause it's the best contraception out there but it's starting to look bad :( any ideas? HELP!!

I had this after sex and now I've just had brown blood but I have been to the clinic and they said not to worry most of the time it's old blood that is sitting in your cervix and when you have sex or get "excited" it passes through but anything brown is usually old blood it's common and normally nothing to worry about :) maybe go ask someone though just in case or if your too worried because I was :)

I got it at my 6 week appointment after having my daughter. I didn't bleed for 6 months. After I stopped breastfeeding about a month went by and I had a heavy period for 2 weeks and then I had bright red spotting for 2.5 months straight. Since then I have had the brown disgusting discharge for a month. My fiancé says I'm going crazy and I flip over little things I normally wouldn't care about. I get migraines so bad I vomit and I have no appetite so I'm losing weight and it's not attractive. I swear profusely from just walking down the stairs. I'm getting it taken out next week. It might be normal to the doctors because they know of the side effects (I'm a research coordinator so I do the trials of these medications) but i don't think its normal to me leaking for long periods of time and be expected to be ok with it. Pads and underwear are expensive. And from the looks of these comments the fda needs to audit the trials on this medication. Obviously the dosage needs to be adjusted

I've had the implant for 3 months months now, and the first month I bled irregular for about two weeks. And then occasionally during intercourse brownish colored discharge(?) is coming out. From everyone else's posts I'm guessing it's normal. I'll take that over bleeding any day.

I got my nexplanon in 4-10-15, I started brown/ pink spotting now for four days 4-28-15, if this is my period, its 11 days late and very light. No preg test taken before insertion. Unprotected sex once before insertion and it wasn't implanted during period. Unprotected sex multiple times after insert. Could I be pregnant?

I'm experiencing same trouble since having implant stopped my menstrual cycle completely it's due out Nov this year 2015 but having irregular bleeding happen few months back lasted 3weeks on /off ever since I get a dark brown mucus discharge ? Am I 2 worry ??

Hey guys, I'm on the Nexplanon too, been on it since March 2014. It's been a year since I've had it and since then I've been period free. Last week I got some brown discharge that went through the pants and then it stopped the next day. I've been good until today. I checked and had some more brown discharge. I took 3 pregnancy tests and a blood test and all negative. I'm wondering what's going on. Why has it stopped and then come back? What exactly IS it? HELLPPP

I don't get my period every month, however, I do still PMS at the same time(end of the month) that I did pre-implanon. I get my period not consistently every month, but when I do get it, it's at the time of the month I used to get it regularly. On the months that I don't get my period, I get the brown mucus-like discharge and it usually lasts for a week or more depending on the month. I think that because the implant is technically supposed to stop your period, your uterine lining doesn't shed completely(or at all) and it oxidizes(tuning brown) and is shed slowly in the form of discharge.
