When you first got it in did you have that discharge? I've had it in for 1year and a few months. I have only had one period since i got it. I recently had sex after 4 months without sex. I'm worried about the timeline of it. Did you get the brown discharge like right after you got it in or a year after?

I got the implanon in September last year (2014) and have had many yeast infections and also a bacterial infection because of it. Also you will experience pregnancy syptoms.. it's just your hormones changing getting use to the medicine

Do you have the implanon?? You always need to use a condom weather you are on birth control or not.

I am in the EXACT same situation. Got mine in march 2014 and this week (august 2015) I have had this brown discharge. Prior to this week I had NO bleeding and NO periods while on Nexplanon. I thought maybe it was period blood that had dried over night since I discovered it in the AM, but the past two days all day there has been small amounts of this dark brown "bloody" discharge.
After reading this forum and a few others I am believing that it is just a normal part of the implants hormonal effects? I may get a pregnancy test just to be sure, but it makes sense that after not bleeding for over a year the blood that does come out is going to be a little old and gross. It is not like the uterine wall is shedding regularly anymore to create fresh red blood?
Side note, I just finished the first two weeks of a new job as an RN and have been EXTREMELY stressed, which could also lead to an irregular period/hormone surge.

This is my second round of the Nexplanon. I first got the Implanon in 2011, then I got it removed and the Nexplanon inserted in March 2014. I've been on the Nexplanon for little over a year now. I have not experienced any periods or negative side effects before. I absolutely loved this! This past week, I started noticing some brown discharge and such. I didn't freak out about it because I figured that I've been on this type of birth control for 4 years now, and it would happen. But it's going on two weeks of this now, and it wasn't as bad before, but now the discharge is getting heavier, and it almost seems like I am getting an actual period. I'm not sure what to do, or how to make it stop. I don't want to have get this removed or go on another birth control, because I have no had any problems with the Nexplanon before this point, and I like not having to take a pill every day. Is there any suggestions on what I can do to make the discharge and/or bleeding stop completely or end sooner?

if is show red and brown theres nothing to worried about but just check with your doctor but

yes well done , l got my implant this year in august it helps me from getting pregnant cause l'm not ready to be a mother yet , just been in a long relationship we had sex about 5 times now and never again lol yes brown period its just normal don't worry about anything you cant get pregnant if you on the implant , if you are not on the implant you can get pregnant so
