Here's the background on my issue:

I've been on birth control for 6 years. I started with the normal pill for a few years and then switched to Seasonique (the 4 periods a year pill) and have been on it ever since.

I was originally put on it to regulate my periods because they were unpredictable, long, and heavy. Everything has been fine until recently. I stopped taking the pills for the whole month of August because I was hoping to lose some of the weight I had gained after starting the pill (I didn't intend on taking it again for at least the rest of the year. My period came and was right back to square one: heavy and long. This made me realize what a dumb decision I had made and I started back on Seasonique right away. Since then, I have had 2 small periods before the end of my 3 month pack.

A 2 weeks AFTER the last unexpected period finished, I started having random brown discharge. (NOTE: I didn't have ANY spotting or colored discharge for days after the period ended.) I thought it was typical spotting, but it hasn't gone away for about 2.5 weeks and has continued steadily, with no signs of letting up.

Is this just my body trying to get used to being back on the pill? Could I be pregnant? (3 women in my family have become pregnant while on birth control. I've had unprotected sex on a regular basis, but it's hard to predict how fertile I was during those times, or if I was ovulating because of my irregular cycles).

If anyone has any advice or anything that could help me out, that'd be awesome because I could definitely use it.

This is the reply to brownish discharge: Take a Pregnancy Test Asap!!! I been pregnant 3 times and have two kids and every time I bleed brown. They say it's old blood leaving the body preparing for the baby.
