I finally went to see a gastro specialist and had probably one of those scans that you had. I can't remember what it was called but I had to lay flat on a board for an hour. They injected some dye in me and then this thing scaned around my mid section. Turns out I had to have my gallbladder removed. When they took it out my surgen said it was completely scar tissue and that he felt sorry for me because I must have been in extreme pain.
Its been 4 years since my surgery and at first I felt better. However I am back to having stomach pains again. Whenever I eat something my stomach cramps up really bad to the point that I want to curl in a ball and die.

:?I am 115 lbs., 5'10", and 18 years old . Every single morning of my life I wake up with a terrible nausea. This usually happens anywhere from 6-9 A.M., although when it started I used to be able to sleep through it.
It started January 2007. I woke up one morning, went to school, and after I went to my first class I had to run to the bathroom and vomit profusely. After that I went home and shrugged it off.
But it never went away. My school nurse started getting aggravated with me so I stopped going to her and just threw up in the school bathroom every now and again, whenever the nausea was that bad. I didn't ALWAYS throw up, but I did ALWAYS have nausea in the morning.
After a couple weeks of this I saw my doctor. I got a blood test which came up negative. I was sent to a specialist who told me to stop drinking acidic drinks and gave me an endoscopy which also came up negative. However, he said I had been throwing up so frequently/violently that I had somehow forced bile back up into my stomach which was most likely the problem and would most likely go away. It didn't, and I never saw him again. He had me on Prilosec every morning, but it didn't help. I gave up for a bit and decided to just deal with the problem on my own.
A few months later after finding a bulls-eye on me I was tested positive for lyme disease. The reason I mention this is because the specialist I saw prescribed me with doxycycline, saying it was a "stronger antibiotic" and would "help me with my acne." But couldn't it have killed off all the beneficial bacteria in my stomach?
Months later I decided my morning nausea wasn't going to go away on its own so I went back to my doctor who sent me to another specialist. This time I had a CT scan of my brain, upper GI and small bowl series which all came back negative. I never had a follow up with this specialist because he stopped taking my insurance and now refuses to see me.
Months later, (only about a month back from today), my dad convinced me to go to a health foods store and see what they had to say. They recommended I take a capsule of plant enzymes before each meal or whenever I feel sick. They didn't work.
I am not someone who has trouble dealing with stress or anxiety. Of course I get them, but now when I get them, my stomach gets worse feeling than it used to. Aside from the morning, I basically have the same stomach as everyone else except if something happens that would bother a normal person's stomach slightly it bothers mine terribly. I used to never have a problem with fried food, fast food, spaghetti sauce, orange juice, or soda except now they are completely eliminated from my diet. I can't eat breakfast (I can usually start eating around 11ish), and I refuse to eat or drink anything after 8:00 P.M.
I hate to sound drastic but this problem is ruining my life. I hate the smells of food, and eating, and my friends mock me for this. Having always been a skinny kid, I wanted to gain weight but now I have to follow that plan to gain weight in order to simply maintain the pathetic 115 pounds I am now. Every morning for what lasts from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours, I have to go through a strict meditation process I invented to deal with the pain and reduce my chances of vomiting while everyone else is snoozing.
I'd like to describe an average morning for me with associated pains in case you guys want to know my symptoms a little better:
I wake up anywhere from 6-9. The nausea comes about 10-15 seconds after I wake up. The discomfort is usually all over my abdominal area under my belly button. It's usually associated with intestinal cramps, uncomfortable gurgling, or occasionally, heartburn. I always have to urinate very very badly, and once I do I feel slightly better. I'll go into the bathroom, and depending on how bad it is I'll either vomit or at least try to have some sort of bowel movement. If I vomit, I'll feel a little better right afterward but then the nausea will come back and last a lot longer, usually with a lot of gurgling going on. If I vomit in the morning I pretty much can't eat for the rest of the day. If I don't vomit, I'll sit on the toilet and fight cramps. I'll feel really constipated, and only be able to get a little out. My stool is usually yellow/grayish and claylike- never solid but definitely not diarrhea. After this I'll feel slightly better, and I'll go find a place to fight it off (never laying down, that makes it worse). Eventually it goes away. Then I'll either go back to sleep or just stay awake.
Sometimes I end up on my computer after it all happens. Recently, I started looking around on the internet to see if there might be a medical site with a solution. What I actually found was a good amount of message boards with people posting either the exact same or a very similar problem. However, all these posts have something in common- no answer!
I realize this post is very long but I wanted to be as detailed as possible.
Thanks!-

My friend has this symptom and I am worried for his health.
He does not eat very often, he stays hydrated, and he smokes marijuana daily.
I've seen the link to marijuana in other threads, and I'm interested as to whether those inflicted share his habit.
I also smoke, but have never experienced such terrible symptoms.

I usually dry-heave as I don't have much in my stomach in the morning - but I'll dry heave until the bile comes up. Once the bile is out, my body seems to be "ok" and I can move on with my day. The common denominator here seems to be the bile; some days I'll dry heave for ten minutes, other days for literally less than a minute - but it's always until the bile comes up. What is up with my bile that my body wants it out every morning? My digestive patterns tend to be more diarrheal, and I rarely take large & solid number twos anymore. Appetite goes down, now I can't really eat until noon or later.
In the evenings I've switched my diet around completely, and can say it's not food-related. I've had non-gluten foods for dinner and will still be throwing up the next morning.
Here's the really weird thing: I smoke cannibis almost every day (to help with unrelated issues). While it helps with many of my issues, it certainly doesn't help with the nausea. In fact, when I'm nautious in the morning and smoke, it almost instantly induces the vomiting. This makes me wonder if the previous poster who spoke of "extreme nausea caused by cannabinoids" has any merit to it. My symptoms really line up with what most everyone else here has said though, so I don't think the cannabis creates the issue, but I have gathered that it won't help my nausea issue.
I've spent thousands on doctors and research for this over the years - all a waste of money. I do believe that it is related to stress & anxiety, but I don't know what else I can take to alleviate this. Like I said I already use Cannabis almost every day. Used to be on prozac constantly too; guess I'm just a wreck of a person that I need all these things to basically function every day.
I'm going to try some of the suggestions in this thread one by one and see if any of them specifically help me. It would be great if there was a good doctor in my area to help though; most just send you for the usual bloodwork, xray/MRI, etc - and it costs $$ to tell me what I already know - that you won't "see" anything.

before the MJ the only thing that worked (and you won't believe this either, or think it gross, but I don't care because I'll sign in as anon) was masturbating --and just so you know, I'm a female. orgasm does something to blood flow or something and it usually makes the dicomfort go away enough for me to get up and get going. however I'd like for the nausea to just stop. it's not cool.
it's overwhelming to find out how many people have this same problem, though.
I've always had it, I had my gallbladder removed when I was 22 years old. I don't know if that counts for anything. my digestive system has always been my undoing.....
thanks for reading.

one thing that would help all of your guys symptoms is marijuana. makes your nausea go away, makes your stomach feel better, calms you down, and eases anxiety.
and for me it works extremely well because it makes me hungry and ever since i saw my dr i have been trying to have a regular diet and eat more and healthier too so i can gain some of my weight back and look "normal" again
