My hubby was very sick, retching, for 2 weeks before having to undergo GB removal (laparoscopic cholicystectomy) - he also had duodenitis, an inflamed duodenum. Surgery was 1 week ago tonight. He suffered terribly in hospital with the gas pain, and we came home Monday night. He has not had a decent night's sleep - nausea wakes him at night & continues into morning. I give him zofran, 1 before bed & 1 when he gets up. Once he's up for awhile, it eases. But he sure would like to have a night of uninterrupted sleep! Is this normal? Anyone else suffering this way and if so, how are you treating it? No one warned us about this after effect from the surgery.
