I understand that a lot of ibuprofin taken daily for a long time may cause kidney damage in some people. As far as I know, some Doc advise donors to avoid it if possible, just to be on the safe side, although Other Docs don't see evidence enough to warrant such a warning. My mother in law needs transplantation, so I am doing some researching. Any comments?

I was told to stop taking ibprophen, forever. My brother's transplant coordinators, who are very helpful, told me that it doesn't necessarily hurt your kidneys, so any other doctor or specialist may say it's ok. What it does is it slows the blood flow through your kidneys, which is not a good thing if you’re living with only one kidney because you need it to operate as effectively as possible.
