Few weeks ago his doctor told him that his kidneys don't function any more and he may choose between kidney transplantation and peritoneal dialysis. He chose dialysis as he was afraid from operation so I would like to know something more about it.

Hi, I am on peritoneal dialysis for some time already. It is method which is far less aggressive than operation and it is replacing renal functions. Dialysis is based on method where patient intake fluid in his abdominal cavity by catheter and these fluids are cleaning his blood from urea and other wasted substances. Patients who are using this method have to take special measures to prevent any infection.
