gurl let me tell you.....i was told the same thing. I had a baby a yr ago and soon as i had my c section and wen i got my staples removed it was there. Well i had another baby right after (back to back lol) and i couldnt wait because i wanted it removed badly. So i had a diffrent doctor and he told me the same things. This time i had the stitches. he injected the stuff at first it looked real good cause he removed the previous one...but about 2 months later it still came back smh. and it looks worst cause i lost pigmintation in that spot. he gave me some cream but it didnt work for me.

I had two C-sections, the first time left me with a terrible thick, painful scar, I was super embarrased but I wanted to have another baby and I was afraid. I found this AMAZING doctor, DR. Asulin (Englewood, NJ) He told me that after the 2nd child he would cut arounf the scar, removing it and instead of using staples or stiches, he used a glue... I still got a Keloid ( and he warned me that I would get another, since I'm prone to it) He began injecting Kenalog, 6 weeks later, it took effect immidately, it flatten out but it looks brused or like the flesh was being eaten away ( it wasnt raw but looks like a rotten apple) I asked and he told me the kenalog is actually eating away at the thick keloid but it will not eat up the healthy surrounding skin. (I'm sure there are medical term to descript the eating away but this is how he helped me understand the preocess) He was right!!! Its flat, you cant even tell I had TWO c sections. I had a dent at one point, bc the kendlog was taking effect fast in one area then it did in aother. My Dr also injected me with Kenalog after birth which delayed the keloid bc after my first delievery, the keliod form 3-4 week after. Being propelry informed ( even if tis not in theproper medical terms) is def the best way to go... I googled it prior and I brought it up to my dr and he explained everything to me...FYI if your not prone to keloids, it may occure bc of the TENSION on your c section area, menaing how the c section was closed, staples, stiches, ets. Aske for the GLUE!!! Oh and did I mention, Im white hispanic, many ppl think keloids effect afrian americans only, NOT TRUE. hope this helps.

if the keloid is bigger then a pen, its not going away!! you try kenalog injection, they do have side effects but get informed and see if it works

Radiation combined with corticosteroid injections is the only treatment with a 90+% success rate. All other treatments are iffy so if you're less susceptible to keloids or hypertrophic scars, injections alone may work. I've heard silicone sheeting does not work for keloids, but may work for other scars (like hypertrophic scars). Laser, cryotherapy, surgical removal even with injections still has a 50% recurrence rate. I've only done injections and my scars have come back with a vengeance. I'm undecided about radiation due to potential cancer risks (especially in the vaginal area where my ovaries may be exposed). The science on radiation is still fairly new (maybe 15 yrs old), so I've been waiting to see about potential side effects. Though I believe some insurance companies have approved radiation treatments (if medically necessary). There are other medicines that have shown promise -- basically injecting the scar with an anti cancer drug. Still a relatively new treatment and would like to see more work done
