I feel so sorry for my friend, she always had health issues and it seems like she got the one that will definitely change her life. She has been diagnosed with hepatitis B and she has a one week old baby! How is this possible? I mean, how they did not see that she has this condition sooner? Can a mother with hepatitis B even breastfeed her child?

Well, I assume that no one though about this condition and perhaps she was in the incubation phase so there were no symptoms. As far as I know 12 weeks are needed for the virus to get activated in the host’s organism. But know when her condition has been discovered, I think that tests will be done to determine of the baby has the same problem. If it does, the treatment will start immediately. No breastfeeding, of course.
