My daughter is 4 years old and two days ago she was playing with her friend who gets rubella today. Now I’m worried will my daughter get it also. I know it’s nothing dangerous but we plan to travel this weekend. Please, tell me how can rubella virus attack skin? Thanks!

First, you should know that risk factors for congenital rubella include lack of the recommended rubella immunization and contact with a person who has rubella. So if your daughter didn’t have rubella early, probably she will get it now. The incubation period is usually 14 to 21 days. The virus enters the body through the nose or throat.
