My friend is 42 years old and has just received some bead news. He has been diagnosed with bacterial endocarditis and the way I understood it, it is a serious thing. Can bacterial endocarditis turn to be fatal? I guess he will start with the treatment right away, I just wish there is some way I could help him…

Well, I guess you can help if he needs someone beside him but other than that, I guess everything is in the doctor’s hands. I assume that they will give him antibiotics for the bacteria responsible for his condition. If that does not work, there are some other methods, but they do involve more risk for his health. And unfortunately, it might end fatally (in about 25% of cases).
