My daughter is 19, and has multiple sclerosis. She has been advised by her doctor to take linoleic acid supplements, which has has been using for a few months now. I did read an article that said that linoleic acid supplements could be harmful to young people with MS. Can anyone clarify what the situation is in relation to this? Should my daughter come off linoleic acid?

I only know that pregnant women are strongly advised against taking linoleic acid supplements, as linoleic acid may harm the developing fetus. When I was pregnant, I could not use linoleic acid and I didn't start up again until I stopped nursing. I don't think that linoleic acid is bad for adolescents or young adults though! I am sure your daughter's doctor wouldn't have suggested it otherwise.
