Hi, guys. My friend had elbow fracture few weeks ago. Unfortunately, he developed ischemic contraction as a complication. I would like to know if a radial pulse can be felt in this condition or not. I would appreciate all your replies considering this. Thank you in advance for replying to my post.

Hello, there. I have heard about Volkmann’s ischemic contracture. This is common complication of elbow fracture. It is especially common for kids. In some cases radial pulse cannot be felt. I don’t know why you are interested in this. I cannot tell you more details. You should discuss this with your friend’s doctor. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!

Hello, everyone. My little nephew had elbow fracture last year. He was administrated to the hospital. Later, he developed Volkmann’s ischemic contracture. As far as I know, he didn’t have radial pulse for some period. I don’t know if this has any prognostic significance. I hope your friend will be all right. Please, let me know how his condition develops. Good luck! Bye!
