Some additional information is needed, plus some clarification.

  1. What date did this happen?
  2. What were the start dates of your last two periods?
  3. What is your cycle length (typically 28 days)?
  4. What date do you expect your next period to start?

Hi Chocolatere

You can only estimate your ovulation day (OD) by counting. The more regular your periods are, the more likely it is that your estimated OD is your actual OD.

Your next period start date is determined by you OD, not the other way round. A period is the discharge of your womb's unneeded preparations because pregnancy has not occurred, and typically occurs about 14 days (the Luteal Phase) after OD. That means that with a typical 28-day cycle, and counting the 1st day of your period as Cycle Day 1 (CD1), your next period would start on CD29 (CD1+28), which is actually CD1 of the next cycle. Then your OD would be CD15 (CD29-14).

If your last actual period-start-dates were 31st Oct and 1st Dec (a cycle of 31 days), then your OD would likely have been 17th Nov (1st Dec minus 14 days).

If you always have a 31-day cycle, then your next period would likely start 1st Jan (1st Dec plus 31 days). That being the case, your OD was likely 18th Dec (1st Jan minus 14 days).

However, if your periods are irregular, then it is more difficult to estimate your OD with any degree of accuracy.

Remember that you are considered fertile on the 5 days leading up to OD as well as OD.

You haven't said why you want to calculate you OD - whether it is to increase or decrease to chance of conception, but I hope this basic information helps as a start.

The chances are that there is no need to worry. But as no two circumstances are the same. So state:
1. Exactly what happened that time
2. What date it happened
3. The start dates of your last two periods
4. The length of your cycle (typically 28 days)
5. The date your next period is due
Then more positive advice might be able to be given.

To Mr.Shepherd999, its a follow up from my post lastweek. I had made PT on dec19 and dec21. My period was expected to be on dec22 and it turned out all negative. I waited for dec 22 but unfortunately, my period didnt came. I tried PT again on dec24 twice with different brands and both were negative. Its now dec25 and i still havent got my period yet. Im always having lower back pain like my period will come any moment. (That period feels). Please advise. Am i just delay for my period or am i pregnant? Coz 4 PTs came out negative.

It sounds like your period has been delayed and could come shortly. 24Dec was the earliest for a test, and I would not rely on the earlier tests. However it is possible that if your period were to be delayed (suggesting you ovulated late) then pregnancy is just possible (as sperm can live in a woman's body for up to 6 days). 21 days after last sex (vaginal exposure to semen) would give an accurate result. So if your last time was 10Dec, then 31Dec would be ideal to test. But it does sound as though your period has been delayed, probably by stress.

Ok so....I gave my boyfriend a hand job and he had sperm in side him but it didn't come completely come out yet like it was about to but it didn't and he touched it and then he wiped it off but he didn't wash his hands after that and then like a hour and a half later he fingered me. Am I concetered pregnant because i am experiencing the symptoms of pregnancy but this is the day after we did it so am I concetered pregnant??. Please help me I'm really getting worried.

You would not be pregnant yet. That takes several days. You are not very explicit about what happened, nor have you indicated when your fertile days are. However the likelihood of pregnancy following seems very low.

  1. What do you mean by "he had sperm in side him". How did you know that?
  2. By "it didn't come completely come out yet", do you mean it partly came out?
  3. How did you sense that it was "like it was about to but it didn't"
  4. By "he touched it", what exactly did he touch?
  5. What date do you expect your next period to start?
  6. What date did this happen? 26th Dec?
  7. How long is your cycle (typically 28 days)?
  8. What date did your last period start?

You have replied to an anonymous post written nearly 7 years ago. Your situation very probably is not exactly the same, and that poster's outcome would not necessarily help you. But, if you would like some help, why not give your own specific account with dates and details of your menstrual cycle?
