I read something about dermoid cyst in some magazine. If I understood well, it isn’t so much dangerous. Still, I would not like to have one. Now I want to know can young children have dermoid cyst? I have daughter six years old and I don’t know do I need to worry about it.

Unfortunately, the answer on your question is YES. A dermoid cyst is a congenital defect, which is present from birth, and occurs during embryonic development when the skin layers do not properly grow together. The dermoid cysts are usually found on the head or neck, and sometimes on the face.

Hi there,
Yes you are right, dermoid cysts are something that you don’t want to have and especially they are not welcome in children. The fact is that cyst can contain fluid or pus or some other foreign body. The dermoid cysts are usually located near your eye or somewhere on your face, on or under your skin. The fact is that they can form in children and this can happen during the pregnancy while your child is still in the womb. The fact that you might get the cyst later in life is because they grow very slow and you don’t even noticed then when the baby gets born but later in life they get noticed.
Best wishes,
Marco
