I live in part of town where crime is something you face with every day. Schools are center of drugs distribution. Poor people live in my neighborhood. Most of them don't have any hope that things will be better. They say that you can't escape your environment. But I must. I don't want to live the way they do. I am 16 years old. What should I do?

First of all I think you are very intelligent and self aware for your age. Crime is not the way and don't let anyone force you in it. Only by your knowledge and education you can find the way out. Ask your parents to support you. Even if they are poor their support is crucial. Tree can not live without its roots.
