Hey!
I have two cats, one male one female (both spayed and neutered so thats all sorted).
But recently my little boy has started having some weird stuff with his eye. It's not in the eye itself, it's like gunk in the corner, I can only discribe it as like when we wake up and you have "sleepy dust" or whatever you call it - that gunk in the corner of your eyes.
It doesn't seem to be causing him any problems, but it's annoying me because of my lack of knowledge.
Actually I'll make it easier, heres a pic.
Any help would be much loved.
Ta!

Hi there, that looks like your cat may be getting dust or something like that in his eye, which is why he has that in the corners of it. Do you have black dirt near your house or anything/ Is he an outdoor cat?

Thanks for replying!
He's an indoor cat, and he likes to wrestle with the other cat, so maybe shes scratched him around there or gotten her fur in his eyes or something.
I think I'm just going to take him down the vet for a check up, it doesn't seem to be causing him any problems, but I think I'll just go get it checked out anyway, maybe he's got the cat equivalant of conjuntivitis or something. :-/

THat's always a possibility. How is the cat doing now? Did you already go to the vet to see what it is? I hope it didn't turn out to be something serious--I was pretty sure it wasn't anything to worry that much about.

My cat just started to have the same thing about 3 weeks ago, it's kinds crusty dark and if you look closely there is some in the bottom of the eye lid and at the otter edges of his eyes.
(Looking closely) if I get it I out of his eye with my finger it's like it has a softer center.
Is is some kind of a mite?
I can clean his eyes several times a day? He doesn't act sick.
He's an indoor out door cat in the day time.
Can someone tell me what this is too?

Our white female has the same problem. The black part of it is really bad. Sometimes it almost clears up and then it comes back again. We took her to the vet once for it and had little success with meds. We are taking her somewhere else soon. Hopefully will get better answers.
