Can anybody tell me what the causes of continual palpitations are and what is used to check the palpitations?

Hi there! The most common causes of palpitations are anxiety, fever, medication such as thyroid hormone medication, decongestants, asthma medications, and certain heart medications, substances such as caffeine and appetite suppressants, cocaine use, hyperthyroidism, exercise, anemia, defects in the electrical system of the heart, abnormalities of the heart muscle, known as cardiomyopathy and abnormalities in the heart valves. A doctor may conduct some of these tests to check on the palpitations: ECG, chest x-ray, echocardiogram, and thyroid function tests to rule out underlying thyroid problems. I know this because my father had problems with palpitations and then he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.
