Hi, hope someone can help or at least stop me from worrying.
Friday 8th Feb, I went to the doctors for a routine cervical smear, everything was going perfect, water sample, blood pressure, weight all fine. Then I had to take off my lower half of my clothes and lay on the couch for my examination, she began the examination and then started asking when I last had sex, have I had any problems with periods etc, I told her I hadn't had sex for a few months and that my periods have been erratic for quite some time and the doctor knows that. (The nurse was doing the smear)
Now she couldn't continue with my smear cos I had started bleeding and she couldn't find my cervix, but said the famous saying, "don't worry about it, its probably something and nothing"
Thing is I am worried, because she hasn't found my cervix, how do I know when I have stopped bleeding if its internal and not external, my period ended 7 days ago, and more to the point what if I can't have more children because something is going untreated?
Plz help, someone.

I have been for my smear today, and exactly the same thing has happened to me, although i am 45 so dont want any more children, but am eager to find out if you have been ok and not got anything nasty? The doctor has asked if i will go back in 3 weeks time and have a coil fitted at the same time to stop heavy periods associated with the menopause, but i am terrified of this, as i am sure if they cant find it to perform a smear...how will they find it to place some thing in it??
