chest pain in the esophogus when and after eating

I have some similar problems. Also, a few years ago I could feel the food going down, kind of a sharp pain. like sliding on rust. i think it was candida, a yeast growth because of too much white sugar, white flour, and milk. I laid off of them for a while and it went away.

man, im 15. same exact problem. it hurts. my bro has acid reflux. as far i as i know i don't but maybe this is a symptom. i feel the food all the way down to my stomach. it hurts in my chest.

I was having the same issue, what help was an antiacid liquid from CVS (same brand) that is the equal of mylanta, try it, you will feel some relief shorty after takin the first dose.

I had this problem several years ago and my doctor told me it was because I was overweight and the fat stopped the esophagus from moving at a normal rate

I am also taking doxycycline and the other night I guess I didn't take enough water and felt it stuck in my throat, now since tues morning I have been suffering with that sticky feeling in my throat and chest. I am going to stop the meds and call the dr tomorrow

but i sometimes find it hard to breath too,and i can also feel the pain in my chest in my back too, then i have too take a couple of small deep breaths....sometimes when this bes happening i drink some water but it almost gets stuck!! and the pain is immense.....i wonder what it could be, i never thought it could be something serious...does anyoone think i should go and see the docter or somebody?

aMy son is 17 and was taking the same medicine as you for only two weeks. I told him to stop taking it and a week later still the same problem and we are now being sent to an ear, nose and throat doctor. I hate medicine companies, they make medicine so that you get side effects and end up having to take something else to cure it. I am debating on taking him to a natural medicine store to see what they say. You have to be careful on both regular medicine and natural stores.

I am 55 and have this problem. I used to be addicted to diet soda yet curbed it a GREAT deal in the past year. I was never without a soda. Since then, I experience this and more so when I have eaten a certain type pizza with a heavy bread base. The next morning it is very difficult after swallowing. I will drink more water.

I'm 30 and I've been on doxycyline for a month and just started having the same exact symptoms. I've been taking the med with a tiny sip of water and then going right to bed. i didn't know until now that I should be taking it with lots of water and staying upright for at least a 1/2 and hour.  A few nights ago about an hour after taking the med, i woke up with stabbing, piercing pain under my sternum that hurt so bad that i didn't even want to breathe.  By morning, the pain had decreased and is no longer a stabbing pain, but it hasn't gone away.  it hurts to eat and to swallow.  Also, like you, I feel like I can feel my food go down my throat and it feels like something is stuck in my throat. My pain stays throughout the day (kind of a gnawing pain under my sternum), but is worse when eating.  I've avoided acidic, spicy, and sugary foods for the last 3 days, but it is not any better. I have some relief with tums.  I'm wondering if this is GERD or something worse?

I am on th same acne treatment and have only been on for 2 weeks now and I have been sufferning the same symptoms for 4 days now. I get this dull beeling in my upper chest.

I have it at the moment and im anxious to find out whats wrong with me! It can happen just when im lying down or stretching or eating (eating and stretching mainly) . It started one day after i was swimming, i was eating a burger afterwards and i took one bite and i had a sudden pain and i could not move. what is this problem? Is it serious?

I have had these same symptoms for the past couple of days and am wondering whether this just goes away on its own! I see your post is over a year old, but thought I would whether yours just went away??
