For the past 2 months I have had a soar throat. When I talk the pain increases where my lymph nodes in my throat are. Usually in the center of my throat but some times the pain alternates to the either  side of my throat. It is extremely irritating and I do not talk often as the pain becomes very great after talking for 10minutes +.  I have seen an ENT and he performed a scope which  showed the lymph nodes in my throat were inflamed. Also the doctors thought it might be stomach acid but and I’m on medication for that which also seems to be nothing.. Any ideas what it could be or if anyone has had a similar problem and resolved it if u could let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

I have similar thing for about a year now, on and off. Did you get treatment for inflamed lymph nodes? Have they considered it might be some bacteria? But, the thing is, I know that in my case stomach acid definitely is responsible. First thing that will help you is not to count on stomach acid medication alone - you have to minimize the stomach acid that irritates the lower end of your throat by avoiding heavy, sour and spicy food, big meals and most of all, avoiding to eat at least two hours before bedtime. And sleeping with your upper body in higher position also helps. On which antacid medication are you and what is the dose?

Thanks so much for your response.  I am on Prilosec every 12 hours.  I have never had any problems with acid reflux, stonach acid or heartburn so I really question rather that is the source.  I always feel better in the morning  and the pain worsens at the end of the day so my sleeping position doesn't seem to matter.  I have another doctor appointment in 2 weeks so perhaps they will try a different approach.  Thanks again for responding.
