I am 43 years old and this has just started happening to me as well... After my period ends, I have a clear watery discharge for about 2-3 days. There is quit a lot of it too. I too have a fybroid and wonder if it does have something to do with that. ??

I am fourteen, and it just started happening to me. I know for SURE it can't be a sign of pregnancy unless I am the next Virgin Mary. It kind of concerns me how so many people have the same problem, but nobody knows what t is!

I am 20. When i got my period early in the week there was a low blood flow for two days which i found very strange but what made it even worst is when i stop bleeding completely & it seemed as if fluids was just oosing out in place of blood! I am terrified because this isn't normal & i hop im not pregnant. & i am no on any birth controls or have ever been on any so i dont think it has anything to do with coming on or off birth control

this has just started happening to me a few months ago, and while I am puzzled as well as to what causes it, I think I have figured out how to alleviate it (for me anyway)..maybe this can help some of you others too.. im 37 with 2 kids..and only began using tampons a few years ago, as they have always made me very uncomfortable to insert and keep in. I decided to finally start trying to use them instead of pads, and my doctor suggested to try the "slender" or "lites" because they are narrower and smaller. now Im on the pill so my periods are usually fairly light so they may not work for everyone but have worked well for me for a long time. However, one time I was out of them, and couldnt find the slender version so just grabbed "regular" absorbancy, and well thats when this began. I kept using them not realizing the connection. Until that box ran out and went back to slender and nothing. It happens to me EVERY time I use any tampon bigger than the slender or lights... very strange. It was so bad one time I had to leave work and go home and change, it soaked my pants through to my chair. And this does also happen occasionally during intercourse, i have no idea why this happens but would love to know...

I too have had continuous clear fluid discharge since having my mirena coil removed seven months ago. I have had all the tests and everything appears healthy and normal, so like everybody else here, the doctor is perplexed. Why aren't consultants aware of this problem? I have spoken to two Consultants and two GPs now and they have never heard of this occurence . It is so reassuring to know that I am not alone. Very interested to know if anyone has solved it....

This used to happen to me only when I was drunk and on my period, I always thought it must just be due to the alcohol in my blood stream and was just curious as to whether that was the cause (hence googling the symptom), but it doesn't seem to happen to me anymore even when I've been drinking. Hope it sorts itself out for all of you ladies as well!

This happens to both me and my mum. I have a doctor and 2 nurses who haven't heard of (and therefore don't care about) it. I did find that it seemed to happen when I used tampons, my theory is this: when I use a tampon it blocks, but doesn't soak up, the blood. I can see it on the tip but it doesn't soak down as it is so thick. I know it isnt being soaked up as I normally have very heavy periods. I feel that the blood is stopped from exiting the body and clots up there and the body produces this liquid to try and clear out the clots that are left in. The period following use of a tampon is where the liquid seems to come out, though I suppose if you use them all the time it would be each period. I find it difficult to believe that doctors have not heard of this given the number of responses to just this site. I am not a raging feminist but I cannot help but feel that if this was an issue suffered by men, not only would we know the cause, we would have a solution. Medical Fraternity, we challenge you!

"In addition to the blood flow, most women also release small amounts of clear or white vaginal discharge called leukorrhea. This discharge may vary in color and consistency during menstruation by becoming heavier and whiter (similar to an egg white consistency). Leukorrhea is a normal element of the menstruation cycle and also helps to keep the vagina clean."
