It sounds to me like you're using a very similar technique of advice here that I always advise people to use which is to watch the waitress. If your date treats the server bad on your first date, then dump them right there. THe way people treat service people is the way that they will treat you in about six months. I think that's a good idea to apply that to the way they treat your parents too!
