Debbie, I really wish that I could send this article back in time! My mom really had a hard time with me as a teen and I think it would've been easier on her if she hadn't taken so much of it personaly because she really got hurt whenever I said that I hated her, even though you mention that I didn't really mean to say something like that. I think that this is really helpful! THanks for posting this.

Debbie, Reading this article lifted my spirits today. Tomorrow makes 4 months since I've spoken or saw my teenage daughter (14) and son (11). My daughter broke a rule at school and got in trouble the week before spring break and because her Dad and I are no longet together and I've always been the "full time" parent...she lashed out at me! Lied to her dad - who put a restraining order on me and has now been holding them from seeing or speaking to me. She hates me and it's broken me. Everything I've done in my past was for my children and today was one of those days I wasn't sure how I'd make it through the day...got on-line and found this. Thank God!
