I am 68 and had 2 lower wisdom teeth removed 5 months ago under general anaesthesia. Apparently it was a very difficult operation as they were deeply impacted and had formed cysts.

I recovered from the very unpleasant after effects within 4 weeks, but now am left with a feeling of tightness and vague soreness in my lower jaw which is aggravated by talking.

My surgeon informed me that I must be patient and that it could take up to a whole year for everything to return to normal. This apparently is due to the longer time bone takes to repair in older people.

Has anyone experienced similar problems and if so how long did it take to return to complete normality?
